Thank you so much for writing for me! I love all of the pairings I've listed here, and I'm sure I'll adore whatever you write.
First, me say that all optional details here are optional. Use 'em if they're helpful, and please feel free to ignore them if they're not. Write the story you want to write, whatever that is. (Although if you can try to avoid my "do not wants," I'd appreciate that.)
I'm flexible on both genre and rating. Action, introspection, plot, character studies, slice of life...it's all good. And anything from G to NC-17 is absolutely fine. Fade-to-black, full-out porn, and too busy plotting/shooting/talking to even think about sex are all equally welcome. If you go the NC-17 route, please know that I'm pretty vanilla in my tastes.
Things I Like: In general, I'm a fan of first times of all kinds, competence (so much love for characters being competent!), friendship, understated romance, secrets being revealed, stories that draw on the characters' pasts, and stories that pick up dropped plot threads. Some of my favourite tropes include road trips, forced proximity, and truth serum/in vino veritas. Happy fic is good, and so is mild to moderate angst with a happy or hopeful or bittersweet ending.
Things I'd Rather Not Read: I'm generally a fan of equality in romantic and sexual relationships, so I'd rather avoid any sort of major power imbalance (including A/B/O and BDSM AUs) unless otherwise noted. I also prefer to avoid betrayal and cheating in my requested romantic relationships unless otherwise noted. I'm not big on long, detailed descriptions of recoveries from traumatic events. And finally, fork-in-the-road AUs are great, but I'd rather not read an AU that changes the setting or the characters entirely (e.g., coffee shop-type AUs, always-been-the-opposite-gender, crack, etc.). Well, unless it's a hardboiled detective AU. I'll always take a good hardboiled detective story.
Other Things: I have squicks but no triggers. I'm okay with character death, except where otherwise indicated below. Non-con is fine in the background if it's needed for the story, but I'd rather it not be the primary focus of the story, and I'd prefer it if none of the protagonists were responsible. I sometimes enjoy the happy, shiny, fandom version of dubcon where two people who were already attracted to each other are led by aliens or sex pollen or some such thing to act on that attraction in a mutual sort of way. Or the version where they're pushed by external factors a bit, but still retain some agency. I'm less interested in the traumatizing or severely angsty versions of the trope.
If you're looking for more information, I have a bunch of rambling about what I like and don't like in fic here. Please don't think it's necessary to read that. I'm just dropping the link in case all of my specific suggestions have you pulling out your hair, and you're desperately seeking an alternative idea.
Annie/The Black Rider, Jeff/Britta
Annie/The Black Rider
So I recently re-watched "A Fistful of Paintballs" and I thought the chemistry between Annie and The Black Rider was fantastic--and they were both so marvellously competent in that episode--and so I'd love to read more about them. A one night stand (and what that means for Annie, who at that point still has trouble saying the word "sex"). Annie going to see Coldplay with him after all. Annie running into the Black Rider in some other context and having it lead somewhere. Some trope where they're stuck together for a while. Annie getting into a real relationship with him. Their first real date. However you want to write it. I'd also enjoy a PWP story for this particular pairing, if that's your thing. Particularly if it involves Annie discovering she's a little kinkier than she thought. (Preferably something fairly mild, though. Handcuffs or a little spanking or something along those lines, and not full out whips and chains and black leather.)
Feel free to invent whatever name and background you want for The Black Rider, although I'd really prefer that he not be an actual bad guy, or otherwise mistreat Annie. (He did stop the game to call an ambulance, after all!)
I actually really like Jeff and Britta together, particularly when they're scheming together with good intentions and questionable tactics (or questionable intentions and effective tactics), or in the moments when they're genuinely honest and vulnerable with each other. I wouldn't mind seeing more of either of those things.
I'd enjoy reading about the two of them dealing with some emergency together. Blizzards. Floods. Bank robberies. A new security system locks them (and maybe some of the others?) in a building. Everyone suddenly acquires super powers (or just one of them acquires a super power). Totally realistic and completely ridiculous scenarios are both welcome, as long as the emotional side of their relationship feels real.
Alternately, I'd love to read about how Jeff graduating and coming back as a professor might have changed their relationship, or what might have happened if they'd decided to follow through and get married. Whatever you feel like writing. Or something a little more PWP-ish, if you like, especially if you can get at what they're thinking and feeling, and not just what they're doing.
Spike Scarlatti/Natalie Braddock, Spike Scarlatti/Sam Braddock
Spike Scarlatti/Natalie Braddock
Spike & Natalie were fun together, and I'd kind of like to see something where they get a chance to see if they work together. Maybe "Blue on Blue" never happens, and their relationship just naturally progresses, or maybe they work through the events of "Blue and Blue." If you want to write a rockier path for them, and address the apparent conflict in their communication styles, or all the baggage Natalie seems to have brought back with her, that's fine. If you want to keep lighter and just show how they get closer, or how Sam deals with things, that would be great too. Whatever you want, really. Although ideally without any serious tension arising in Team One.
Spike Scarlatti/Sam Braddock
I'd really love to read an AU where Sam and Spike get together instead of Sam and Jules. Alternately, seeing Sam and Spike start dating after Sam and Jules break up for the first time could also be interesting. In either scenario, it would be fun to read about how they get together, balancing work and relationship, the stress of keeping it secret from the team, what they do on their day off, etc.
Pairing: Riley Neal/Gabriel Vaughn, Lillian Strand/Jeffrey Tetazoo
Riley Neal/Gabriel Vaughn
There are so many things I love about Riley and Gabriel. I love that they're both superbly competent and both regularly get moments to shine. I love how protective they are of each other. I love the snark. I love that Riley is willing to protect Gabriel, but refuses to be the one to keep him in line--that she decides early on that he has the right to look for his wife, and she's not going to stop him. I also love that she pushes everyone, including him, to remember that he's human. I love that they both do what they think is right, rather than what they're ordered to do. And I love how much they respect and trust each other.
I'd enjoy both shipfic and UST. Whichever way you want to go. As far as specific ideas go, I'm always a fan of first time, how-they-get-together stories. Also tropes. Undercover as a couple. Slightly tipsy confessions. Or mission fic is good too, especially if it involves new and creative uses for the chip or maybe picks up on one of things the show left dangling. And family fic would be great as well. More about Gabriel's mother (or other relatives), or maybe something about Riley's family? A wedding? A funeral? A high school reunion? One of them being there for the other during a personal emergency?
Lillian Strand/Jeffrey Tetazoo
These two are frequently antagonistic. They also clearly have a long history together ("I know where the bodies are buried, Jeff"), and I wonder if maybe that history might have involved a time when they weren't quite so antagonistic. Maybe during Tetazoo's early days at the CIA, when he was a rising star working for Leland Strand? Or later, when Lillian struck out on her own? Or maybe there was something going on during Lillian's marriage that she later regretted? I don't really see them being together during the show, although if you want to write an AU where Tetazoo survives and put them together in the future, that could be interesting too.
Thanks again for writing for me!
